Arthur Benjamin, MD, received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University, graduating cum laude on a full academic scholarship. Dr. Benjamin earned his medical degree from the prestigious Duke University School of Medicine, during which time he served as one of a select group of researchers working to develop an artificial retina. Following medical school, Dr. Benjamin participated in an internship program at the Harbor UCLA Medical Center. He received ophthalmology training through the world-renowned Jules Stein Eye Institute at the UCLA Geffen School of Medicine. While at UCLA, Dr. Benjamin was actively involved in a wide range of research projects relating to uveitis, the effects of HIV on the eye, CMV retinitis and ocular blood flow.

Dr. Benjamin is affiliated with a number of professional medical societies, including the American Board of Ophthalmology, American Academy of Ophthalmology, California Association of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. He is also affiliated with a number of area hospitals, including the UCLA Medical Center, Cedars Sinai Medical Center, and Olympia Hospital Medical Center.
