Michael B. Brenner, MD, FICS, is a board-certified ophthalmologist. Dr. Brenner earned Bachelor of Science degrees in both biomedical sciences and psychology from the University of California, Riverside, and his Doctor of Medicine degree from the UCLA School of Medicine. He completed an internship in internal medicine at the Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, California, and a residency in ophthalmology at the University of Arizona at Tucson/University Medical Center, following which he served as Chief Resident of Ophthalmology at the University of Arizona at Tucson/Veterans Administration Medical Center. Dr. Brenner was also awarded a fellowship in cornea/external ocular disease at UCLA’s Jules Stein Eye Institute.
As a specialist in implant technology for the correction of presbyopia, Dr. Brenner was among the first surgeons in Southern California to implant multifocal intraocular lenses. He has performed more than 20,000 vision correction procedures and is frequently invited to lecture at the local, national and international levels. Dr. Brenner is a Fellow of both the International College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Ophthalmology and is a member of many professional organizations, including the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine.
