Philip J. Penrose, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist offering comprehensive eye care, including laser eye surgery. Dr. Penrose has been treating eye care patients in Monterey and the surrounding area for more than eight years. He and his team strive to provide quality, compassionate care in an intimate setting.

In addition to LASIK eye surgery, Eye MD on Cass offers cataract surgery with premium intraocular lens implants (IOLs), glaucoma treatments, diabetic eye disease management and optical services.

Philip J. Penrose, MD, obtained his undergraduate degree at Brigham Young University. He attended medical school at the University of Colorado. Dr. Penrose completed his medical internship at the University of Illinois and his ophthalmology residency at the California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. He speaks Spanish and regularly travels to Guatemala, where he performs cataract surgery for patients who don’t have access to advanced eye care. Dr. Penrose is affiliated with several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
