David Thao, MD, is a board-certified plastic surgeon by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery – an accomplishment that requires adherence to the highest standards of safety and surgical technique. Dr. Thao has advanced training in plastic and reconstructive surgery procedures. He has performed thousands of reconstructive and cosmetic surgery procedures to help patients look and feel better than ever before. He is well respected among his peers and has been a keynote speaker at numerous healthcare conferences. In addition, Dr. Thao is a mentor for the University of Minnesota Medical School Connection Mentoring Program, a position that allows him to share his extensive knowledge with aspiring medical students.

David Thao, MD, received his undergraduate degree from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, and his medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School. He completed his general surgery residency at St. John Hospital in Detroit and received advanced training in plastic surgery in Akron, Ohio. Dr. Thao is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery. He is a provider for several insurance panels and is affiliated with United Hospital, Children’s Hospital, Woodwinds Hospital, St. Joseph’s Hospital, St. John’s Hospital, Bethesda Hospital, and Regions Hospital.
